We pretty much traveled all day on the 9th to get to Kyoto. This town is amazing so far. That picture in your head about what Japan must look like is pretty accurate. Sure there is still a normal downtown and lots of modern looking buildings, but when you get to the back streets and around the temples it looks like time stood still (except for the cars & telephone poles).
